Day 1

Arrival in Yerevan - Transfer to the hotel


Upon your arrival, you will be met by representatives of our travel agency. After a welcome you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 2

City tour in Yerevan - Church Of Etchmiadzin - Zvartnots Cathedral


1. City tour in Yerevan _ During the city tour you will get acquainted with the main streets and the main buildings of Yerevan. Yerevan is the administrative, cultural, and industrial center of the country. The history of Yerevan dates back to the 8th century BC, with the founding of the fortress of Erebuni in 782 BC by king Argishti I at the western extreme of the Ararat plain.

2. Then you will visit Etchmiadzin Cathedral. It is the mother church of the Armenian Apostolic Church, located in the city of Vagharshapat (Etchmiadzin), Armenia.

According to scholars it was the first cathedral built in ancient Armenia and is considered the oldest cathedral in the world․

3. Zvartnots Cathedral is a 7th-century cathedral. Now in ruins, it is located at the edge of Etchmiadzin. Cathedral and Churches of Etchmiadzin and the Archaeological Site of Zvartnots are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

4. In the eviening you will go Yerevan Wine or Brandy factory, where you can taste Armenian cognac.

Day 3

Yerevan - City Gyumri - Marmashen Monastery


1. Gyumri is the second largest city in Armenia and the capital of the Shirak Province in the northwestern part of the country. Gyumri is the city where you will feel the diversity of startling architectural style. It is one of the few Armenian cities where the spirit of 19th century is still alive. Black and red tufa buildings, sculptured frontons, old wooden doors and astounding downspouts will let you experience an unforgettable adventure and take away wonderful memories with you.

2. Then you will visit the gallery of Mariam and Yeranuhi Aslamazyan sisters. The Aslamazyan sisters were the first female artists during the Sovet Era.

3. After you will visit to the Marmashen monastery. It is located 2km. to the north-west of the Marmashen village (Shirak district), on the Akhuryan river bank, divided by two monumental groups known as Big and Small. The main church - Catoghike, was constricted according to inscriptions of 988-1029 by the ruler Vahram Pahlavuni. It was heavily damaged after the Seljuk’s invasion. In 1225 the grandsons of Vahram Pahlavuni - the archbishop Grigor and his brother Gharib reconstructed Catoghike church.

Day 4

Gyumri - Fortress of Amberd - Armenian Alphabet Monument - Yerevan


1. This day you will visit to fortress of Amberd, which is a 7th -century fortress located 2,300 meters above sea level, on the slopes of Mount Aragats at the confluence of the Arkashen and Amberd rivers in the province of Aragatsotn, Armenia. The castle ruins of Amberd comprised an area of 1,500 square metres. Its walls are constructed of roughly hewn basalt blocks set in place with mortar. Tower walls are inclined to have made it easier to fire on invaders below. The interior of the castle had three-stories, each floor separated from one another by wood planks clinched on logs.

2. You can see Armenian alphabet monument, which is located in the village of Artashavan, at the east side bottom of Mt. Aragats. It was erected in 2005 to the 1600 anniversary of creation of the Armenian alphabet by the design of the famous Armenian architect Jim Torosyan. The monument is an interesting demonstration of the stone carvings of 39 Armenian letters.

3. Back to Yerevan.

Day 5

Yerevan - Khor Virap - Noravanq Monastery - Wings of Tatev - City Goris


1. After breakfast visit to Khor Virap, which is an Armenian monastery located in the Ararat plain in Armenia, near the closed border with Turkey. Khor Virap's notability as a monastery and pilgrimage site is attributed to the fact that Gregory the Illuminator was initially imprisoned here for 13 years by King Tiridates III of Armenia. Saint Gregory subsequently became the king's religious mentor, and they led the proselytizing activity in the country. In the year 301, Armenia was the first country in the world to be declared a Christian nation.

2. Then tour to Noravanq monastery, which is a 13th -century Armenian monastery, located 122 km from Yerevan in a narrow gorge made by the Amaghu River, near the town of Yeghegnadzor, Armenia. The gorge is known for its tall, sheer, brick-red cliffs, directly across from the monastery. The monastery is best known for its two-storey Surb Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God) church, which grants access to the second floor by way of a narrow stone-made staircase jutting out from the face of building. ".

3. After you will visit to Wings of Tatev. It is the longest reversible aerial tramway built in only one section, and holds the record for Longest non-stop double track cable car. Later you will go to Tatev Monastery, Tatev plateau has been in use since pre-Christian times, hosting a pagan temple. The temple was replaced with a modest church following the Christianization of Armenia in the 4th century.

Day 6

Goris - Khndzoresk - Qarahunj - Jermuk


1. Khndzoresk is widely famous for its canyon with picturesque rock formations and ancient cave settlement. The artificial caves, some of which are currently used as stables and warehouses, used to be inhabited till the 1950s. In the bottom of the gorge there is St. Hripsime church, dated back to 17th century. After you will visit to Zorats Karer, also called Karahunj, Qarahunj or Carahunge and Carenish is a prehistoric archaeological site near the town of Sisian in the Syunik Province of Armenia. It is also often referred to in international tourist lore as the "Armenian Stonehenge".

2. Jermuk is a mountain spa town and the centre of the urban community of Jermuk in Vayots Dzor Province at the south of Armenia. Jermuk is famous for its hot springs and mineral water brands bottled in the town. It is attractive for its fresh air, waterfall, artificial lakes, walking trails, the surrounding forests and mineral water pools. The town is being redeveloped to become a modern center of tourism and health services.

Day 7

Jermuk - Selim Carvansarai - Gavar - Lake Sevan - Dilijan


1. This day you will drive to Selim Pass for visiting the caravanserai (XIV c.) this used to be an important trade point in the famous Silk Road. In the whole country it is the only well surviving one coming from the depth of the history. Built along the Selim Pass, it once hosted the weary travelers and their beast of burden passing by. This unique architectural monument of Medieval Armenia is a splendid relic of the days when Armenia was a crossroad for economic, cultural and military affairs.

2. In Gavar, you will participate in the Gata Preparation master-class and you will learn how to make tasty Armenian Gata.

3. Then visit to Lake Sevan _ One of the largest high altitude lakes in the world. The lake is at an altitude of 1900 m above sea level. Sevan is famous for its different kinds of fish, particular for ishkhan, which means “princely fish.” Sevanavank Monastery (9th c.), located on a peninsula.

4. Dilijan  is a spa town and urban municipal community in the Tavush Province of Armenia․ Usually called Armenian Switzerland or Little Switzerland by the locals, it is one of the most important resorts of Armenia, situated within the Dilijan National Park. The forested and reclusive town is home to numerous Armenian artists, composers, and filmmakers and features some traditional Armenian architecture.

Day 8

Dilijan Geological Museum - Goshavank Monastery - Haghpat


1. After breakfast visit The Geological Museum. Museum was founded in 1952, and the gallery in 1958. The museum consists of the following sections:

- Fundamental: archeology and ethnography;

- First Floor: Armenian Fine Arts (Socrealism);

- Second floor: 16th -19th century foreign artists.

2. Goshavank is a 12th or 13th -century Armenian monastery located in the village of Gosh in the Tavush Province of Armenia.

Today the monastery is not a functioning religious complex, although it remains a popular tourist destination and has recently undergone some light restoration. Goshavank was erected in the place of an older monastery once known as Nor Getik, which had been destroyed by an earthquake in 1188.

3. Haghpat Monastery, also known as Haghpatavank is a medieval monastery complex in Haghpat, Armenia. The monastery was founded by Queen Khosrovanuysh, wife of the Bagratid king Ashot III, probably in 976. The location of Haghpat Monastery was chosen so that it overlooks the Debed River in northern Armenia's Lori region.

Day 9

Sanahin Monastery - School of Mikoyan-Saghmosavanq - Yerevan


1. After breackfast visit to Sanahin Monastery is an Armenian monastery founded in the 10th century in the Lori Province of Armenia. The name Sanahin literally translates from Armenian as "this one is older than that one", presumably representing a claim to having an older monastery than the neighbouring  Haghpat Monastery.

3. Then You will visit to the Saghmosavank monastery, which is a 13th-century Armenian monastic complex located in the village of Saghmosavan in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia. Saghmosavank Monastery was famous for its manuscripts. There a number of miniatures-illustrations were created and copied. The book-depository of Saghmosavank is one of the rarest in purpose and design in Armenia

4. Back to Yerevan.

Day 10

Matenadaran - Geghard Monastery - Garni Temple


1. After breakfast you will have city tour around Yerevan. You will visit the depository of the manuscripts, Matenadaran, where 18000 pieces of works are kept. These works are included into UNESCO World Heritage.

2. Then we will keep our way to Geghard. Geghard monastery (13th century) carved out of the adjacent mountain and initially called Ayrivank which is included in the World Heritage Site. Due to the fact that the famous spear, with which the Roman soldier wounded Jesus, was kept here for 500 years, the monastery was called Geghardavank (the Monastery of the Spear).

3. Later you go to Garni- the only pagan temple left in Armenia. It is a blend of Greco-Roman and Armenian styles built by King Trdat I in the first century A.D. and dedicated it to the God of Sun. During the tour you can see traditional bread lavash baking demonstration in tonir(oven in the ground).

4. Back to Yerevan.
